Influenced by acts like Bohren & der Club Of Gore and The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble the anonymous russian group Povarovo mixed ideas of existing darker jazz acts with neoclassical elements and the melancholia of traditional russian music to a new level of intensity. Not just a promotion platitude: an immense debut record. Time to immerse.

My search for (quality) Noir Jazz brought me to dark places. Even on Bandcamp I found filth and noises I never wanna hear again. Manet makes dark jazz dark and obscure, but never aggressive. Bought the lot, skipped a bit and kept the beauties....

Very raw and moody with nice effects added for good measure. It's Jazz and a bit experimental. Great Jazz version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. George Harrison would be proud. For the digital only albums I find the best listening experience by downloading Wav files and burning to CDR. Car or Home Stereo sounds amazing.
